THE DEFENSE OF THE PRESIDENT
SADDAM HUSSEIN !

1) CREATION OF THE "INTERNATIONAL ACTION TO DEFEND THE PRESIDENT SADDAM HUSSEIN"

Numerous zones of shade cover the media manipulations orchestrated by the American-Zionist imperialism on the occasion of the arrest of the President Saddam Hussein. He was probably drugged and his humiliation on television carefully organised (Where are the ethical criterias of our media, so expeditious to denounce some month ago the diffusion of pictures of American prisoner by the Iraqi television?).

All these are blatant violations of the Conventions of Geneva and the Hague protecting the prisoners of war. Other leaders of the Iraqi Ba'ath Party, as Tarek Aziz, are detained also without statute and in same violations of the international laws.

The “trial” announced for the President Saddam Hussein, in the direct line line of the unfair trials organized in the Hague, notably against the Yugoslavian president Milosevic, by the iniquitous judges under orders of Washington and NATO, announces itself already like a tragic media and judicial farce. Bush and his “Iraqi” muppets, them, overtly call to the murder of the Iraqi raïs.

The track of the Iraqi ba'athist leaders, after the hunt for the Yugoslavian direction, takes place in the world offensive of imperialism against all those that dare to contest the new colonialism of the New World Order imposed by Washington.

To defend the Iraqi ba'athist leaders, and particularly the President Saddam Hussein, is therefore a duty for all progressive and all anti-imperialistic forces and militants.

This December 17 ‘2003 has been created in Brussels, on the initiative of the “Iraq Committees” and the transnational solidarity association “The Peoples’ Cause”, the “INTERNATIONAL ACTION TO DÉFEND THE PRESIDENT SADDAM HUSSEIN / IADSH”.

The goal of the international committee is to organize the support to the President Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi ba'athist leaders jailed, in particular for the trials that goes their to be instituted, to make respect their rights of war prisoners, to require their liberation.

The Committee want also answer to the campaign of hate and lies orchestrated by the media controlled by the Américan-Zionists and to re-establish the truth on Iraq of Saddam Hussein and the Ba'ath party.

The Committee launches a call to all progressive and anti-imperialist forces and militants, without ideological or political distinction of origin, to sustain its action.

2) SUPPORT TO THE FRENCH LAWYER JACQUES VERGES
FOR HIS ACTION IN FAVOR OF THE JAILED IRAQI BA'ATHIST LEADERS

After notably having defended the president Milosevic, the French lawyer Jacques Vergès now says himself ready to assure the defense of the Iraqi vice-prime minister Tarek Aziz, currently jailed to the secret since the end of the conflict.

“It is children of Mr. Tarek Aziz who asked me to take care of Mr. Tarek Aziz. His family is without news of him. Mr. Tarek Aziz is not treated like a prisoner of war, according to the conventions of Geneva. I wish an equitable trial, it is what I ask for Mr. Tarek Aziz and Mr. Saddam Hussein, and of the same stroke for all theirs comrades of misfortune”, said the lawyer on the French radio RTL. Jacques Vergès declared as that “Saddam Hussein must be considered as innocent, until the proof of the opposite during the time of his trial”.

Vergès denounced the fact that Saddam is detained in a place held secret, in violation with the international conventions.

The “INTERNATIONAL ACTION TO DEFEND THE PRESIDENT SADDAM HUSSEIN / IADSH” brings its active support to Jacques Vergès in the common fight for right and justice.
